Photo II, What is Due this Week?

 -Read the Syllabus linked on the upper right.

-Post a bio and picture... we have some great examples already posted

-Download and install Photoshop

-Try to commit to a project... Lots of possibilities... check with me on email if you'd like or I can give you feed back in the comments.

-You could even start shooting and post an example of what you want to do... or post an example of something  you found online.

-Create your google Drive and share it with me.

-Have fun, the class moves quickly.  

Week 1- Photo

 

My name is Dariann and I am a senior at The University of Dubuque in Iowa. I was born and raised in California, but I now live in Texas. I play softball at UD and I am majoring in Communication with a desire to become an event planner. I will be taking photos on my canon camera and editing them on my Hp laptop. I have always wanted to learn more about photography, so I am excited to get into the course. 

What is due this week?

 Here is a recap from the syllabus of what is due this week:

1. Read the syllabus... follow the links for week 1 and week 2

2. Join the blog, post a bio and picture.

3. Set up your Google Drive folder using the name of the class and your name.  Important!  Share it with me using jnevins@albertus.edu

4. Install Photoshop.

5. Watch a couple of videos from my YouTube Photoshop channel.  How to edit for light, etc.

6. Start shooting for Intro to Composition.

7.  Post everything you shoot in your drive.  Create a folder for Assignment 1. Create a sub-folder called edits and put your best 6-10 images there.  Plan on shooting 50 - 100 shots for each assignment.

8. Do Google image searches for inspiration... plan your shooting time.  Do take time to shoot and edit each week.  You know the old saying, "You will get out of this class what you put into it." Here is a good search term: "geometric composition in photography"

9.  For the first assignment, think abstractly, not literally.  Don't show me a whole building. Use lines, and shapes, look for light and shadow, fill the frame.  Find images online that do this

Week 1 Post

Hello, my name is Kyler Halverson. I go to school in South Dakota but originally from Wyoming. I played baseball throughout my college career but this past year was my last season of playing baseball. I am wanting to become a school teacher after I finish school, so I have been substituting school around my hometown. I need to take this course as my art credit for my degree. I will be taking my pictures on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and using my Macbook to edit the photos. I am excited for what this course will teach me when it comes to looking for things to take pictures and how to edit pictures. 

Week 1 - Photo

My name is Grace and this class will help me do what I want, which is to improve my photography skills. In my free time, I pet sit for friends and neighbors, write stories, put together jigsaw puzzles, and of course, take pictures. I have used Lightroom to edit my pictures and post them online, on multiple social media websites to put my pictures out there. I usually back and forth between using my iPhone 13 pro camera and using my Canon to take pictures.

Week 1 - Portrait Photo

 Hey there! I'm Drew, and I'm using this class to get the last few credits I need to finish my degree at Union College. I'm getting my degree in Communication with an emphasis in Photo & Video Imaging. I've got some photography experience, however I am very excited to use this class as an opportunity to learn even more and become more proficient with Photoshop, which I'm positive will be very useful for my shortly upcoming career. I'll be using my Samsung A22, which clearly doesn't have the best picture quality, but I can definitely work around that with Photoshop.

I cannot access my adobe account

 I went to the adobe website and used my Albertus login to try and download my copy of photoshop for the class. However, it told me that my access was denied. Am I missing a step or have the accounts expired or something? What should I do? :(
